Who we are

Jarami is a family self-management app for children, operated by Jitda Holdings, based in Auckland, New Zealand.

We built Jarami to collect as little information as possible, and to keep everything inside your own family. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and your rights.

Our approach: minimum data, family-only

• We do not ask for a child's date of birth, age, school, or home address.
• A parent creates the account. Children are added by the parent as profiles — and the parent chooses a real name or a nickname (a nickname is perfectly fine, and we recommend it).
• Everything you create stays visible only within your own family — other families can never see your data (enforced by row-level security).
• We do not sell data, and we do not show third-party advertising.

What we collect

1. Account information (from adults)

• The parent's email address — used to sign in and to contact you about the account.
• If you invite a co-parent (e.g. another parent or grandparent), their email address, so they can join and share your family.

2. Child profile information (entered by the parent)

• A name or nickname for each child (your choice).
• An avatar — an emoji, a generated cartoon character, or a photo the parent/child chooses to add (see "Photos" below).

3. Activity information (created through normal use)

• Routines and tasks the parent sets up, and which are completed.
• Points, coins, skill progress, rewards, and extra jobs.
• After-school schedule items and a packing checklist. A parent may optionally save contact details for an activity (e.g. a coach's name, phone or email) for their own convenience.
• Calendar events the parent adds (e.g. birthdays).
• Journal entries by the child — free text, a drawing, and/or a photo.
• Mood check-ins and weekly reflections.
• "Heart to Heart" notes — short messages a parent and child write to each other.
• Notes / messages between a parent and child inside the app.
• Time spent in the in-app learning-games area.

4. Technical information (collected automatically)

• Standard technical data such as device type and IP address, which our hosting provider records to keep the service secure and working. We do not use this to track children across other apps or websites.

Photos

• Jarami lets a parent or child add a photo as an avatar, and add a photo to a journal entry.
• Photos are optional — the app works fully without them (emoji and cartoon avatars are the default).
• Photos are stored securely, shown only within your own family, and can be deleted by the parent at any time. We never use them for advertising, facial recognition, or any purpose other than showing them to your family inside the app.

Why we collect it

• To make the app work (show today's tasks, track progress, save the journal, deliver messages between you and your child).
• To let the parent manage their family's account.
• To keep the service secure.

We do not use this information for advertising, marketing profiles, or selling to third parties.

How we store and protect information

• Your information is stored securely with our database and hosting provider, Supabase.
• Access is restricted by row-level security so a parent's account can only ever see their own family's information — including journals, notes, moods and photos.
• We keep information only while your account is active.

Parents' rights and control

As the parent/guardian, you can at any time:

• See the information stored for your family (it's shown to you in the app).
• Edit or correct any child profile, task, photo, or detail.
• Delete a photo, a child's profile, or your whole account — which removes the associated information.
• Withdraw consent by deleting the account and emailing us at hello@jarami.app.

Children's privacy

Jarami is designed for families and is set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Accounts are created by adults; children use the app as profiles under the parent's account (with an optional child code), not their own independent accounts. We rely on the parent's consent for any information entered about their children, and collect the minimum needed for the app to work.

A child's own journal and reflections are intended as their personal space; the managing parent can see family data to support and protect their child. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us at hello@jarami.app and we will delete it.

Third parties we use

• Supabase — secure database and authentication (stores the data described above).
• Resend — to send account emails such as password resets.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Data deletion and retention

• When you delete a photo, a child profile, or your account, the associated information is removed from our active database.
• Residual copies in routine encrypted backups are cleared on our provider's rolling backup cycle and are not used for any other purpose.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
